camron and juelz santana part ways...
i first heard about this through miss info while having lunch with her last week (a ramen spot in east village, of course) but it's now official. cam has worked out a deal with juelz and def jam; still dipset for life but things are gonna be a little different i'm sure. juelz santana is one of my fav. rappers out there (cam, too) so i'm def. waiting for some new music from both dudes!

here's the controversial tv ad john mccain's camp just released... likening barack obama to britney spears and paris hilton.
google it if you want to read what everyone else is saying about it. besides the obvious fact that it makes john mccain look even older and more out of touch, i think it's kinda funny...

fashion at its worst...
besides the fact that he's homies with our homies (and a surprisingly good host at the espys), he didn't do himself or his own clothing line's rep a favor with this look (although i'm pretty sure he's rockin someone else's waiter tux there)
and since when has it become "cool" to just dress obnoxiously retarded?! these look like pirate outfits + a 5 yr old's halloween costume as a brokeback mountain character (sorry 3000)

my fav. lunch (or late night) ramen spot in nyc
discovered it while i subleased a studio apt in east village last summer. the sliced pork w/ scallion + any of the ramen bowls are BOMB. cash-only (it's super cheap) and very small (maybe seat a dozen people max) but if you know what's good, it's good... 2nd ave & 10th st - peep the spot

HARD festival on sat.
so at the last minute, i decided to check out hard festival... the homies were pre-partying at the standard downtown so we were in the rooms until about 10pm then headed over to the shrine auditorium. everyone i knew/saw got pretty wasted at the open bar backstage but it was a decent show. underaged kids were everywhere and as everyone knows by now, hipsters are definitely the new ravers... i can't remember exactly when but around 2 am, i hit up my chick n got picked up in the back n bailed out of there before i'd get in any trouble. good times...

eat cheap 2008 - new york city
the latest nymag just dropped and just in time for dF's excursion back to nyc. flakez is already there while i get into the city on tuesday, followed by ben/nick on weds (of course, our party with reason and diamond is thursday). if you want to know where you should eat cheap (my fav. bang for the buck spot is the dumpling joint on eldridge of course... can't beat $1 for 5 pork n chive dumplings).

ESPY Awards lastnight...
forget movie premieres and music award shows, espy's is where its at. perhaps it's because i grew up playing sports and worshipped certain athletes in my youthful days but in my eyes, sports award shows triumph the usual hollywood movie/music red carpets and afterparties (same old people you see over and over at the same spots).
highlights of the evening included justin timberlake's better-than-expected jokes (his freethrow shooting segment re: memphis + duet with greg oden were hilarious), will ferrell (his piece with the step brother dude and acceptance of tiger wood's male athlete of the year award were classic), lupe fiasco performing snippets of the cool in between segments and the standing ovation tommy smith and john carlos got for their arther ashe award (1968 mexico olympics).
the privileged (with the wristband or passes) that went over to the afterparty got to enjoy the open bar and buffet (typical afterparty steez) while your fav. skaters rode the rails. if you're the groupie type (guy or girl), you probably would've taken photos or stared at the likes of kevin garnett, ray allen, eli manning, michael strahan, mr belding (yes look him up), hugh hefners girlfriends (no holly though), derek fisher, steve nash, terrell owens, matt leinart, bill walton, dwight howard, bruce jenner and arguably the biggest star on the planet right now (especially for you non-north americans); christiano ronaldo

Good online radio stations/podcasts are usually hard to find, but Scion's channels actually sparked my interest...everybody from Boys Noize to the homey Blu Jemz! check it out here...

if kobe jumps an aston martin, shaq will hop an escalade...
so some of you may have seen this footage of kobe jumping over a moving car (fake by the way except the hardcore jocking done by ronny turiaf). well now shaq (fake) attempts to out jump kobe by trying to do the same trick over a moving suv that steve nash (fake) is driving. one of the funniest things i've seen in weeks.... WATCH.
