lupe fiasco's the cool... certified gold
back in the day (before the late 90's), going gold (selling 500,000 units) meant something... then the industry/labels got a bit too fat with anyone/everyone going platinum, which also meant a lot of garbage music being released/played everywhere. well thanks to the internet, the sales went down and only the true artists (with talent) can sell records and make an impact now; which is a GREAT thing.
so congrats to lupe (another chitown dude) and atlantic records (good staff for sure)...

my favorite politician at the moment aka my obama
this guy... 4' 9" tall with a hook for a left hand (he still got his harvard law degree by the age of 21) is making alot of noise in the northwest. if you're in oregon, support this dude! i just read him in fortune and you can check his story yourself here

i actually think this is the best move the chicago bulls have made in the last 10 years.... one of my fav. broadcasters makes his return to windy city. now all they have to do is draft derrick rose and trade some scrubs away for a decent front court player....

jay-z and diddy fight over the limelight?!
both jay and puff (and others) were (and are) overseas for cannes film festival... apparently diddy tried to steal jay-z's thunder at his party by getting on the mic from the dj booth (of course) which led to shawn telling sean to cool out.

DEMF report...

lastnight in chicago... darfur now.
we have to give a big thanks to all the kids (it was an 18+ show) that came out to the darfur now afterparty jump off at abbey pub. there was a line outside at 8pm and it was a packed house through out the night... willy joy and mano killed it on the 1s and 2s then all natural came out with a dope live performance to set up a frenzy for the headliners... our dudes aka top 10 itunes status aka new high riser apt gettin aka new plasmas with swivels having aka we told you so THE COOL KIDS.

my boy nick and i rolled up to this around 330 am and it was still wall-to-wall... we were both pretty faded so didn't/couldn't see much but complex did a fun(ny) top 10 eyecandy list from this afterparty (didn't see kanye at the party).
