bape store la opening...
mikey (rocks) and i were out all day yesterday for meetings (n getting laced) so by the time bape store opening started (7pm) we were beat. we went by in the beginning when it was slower but apparently it picked up later in the evening (while we were nappin).

blockbuster bids circuit city for $1 billion
kind of ironic since blockbuster is struggling themselves... apparently the objective for blockbuster is to combine the two to create a similar retail space that would parallel the apple stores (i doubt they can make this happen). plus some question whether blockbuster can even finance the deal.

lupe fiasco's new video
to be completely honest, i wasn't really fiending to get lupe's new (not so new now) album 'the cool.'
however, after listening to the whole cd (thanks to lindsay n co at atlantic for re-sending a couple of copies), i realized that the best tracks are at the end... intruder alert and the die are SICK.
anyways, here's the video for paris, tokyo.... smoothed out nappy nap time joint.

another david chang eatery in east village opens....
if you read this blog often enough (or last year when i was in new york every other month), you know that i'm a fan of david chang's. momofuku is one restaurant (noodle bar) in east village i always make a stop at and looks like there's now another spot of his i'm gonna have to check out when i'm in nyc.

derrick rose is a baller
while some may see the jay-z/beyonce wedding on friday (4/4) as the big event this weekend, for me (ex-sports fanatic) watching derrick rose and the memphis tigers beat UCLA in the tournament was far more blog worthy. if you don't know, derrick rose is the freshman phenom from chicago that is projected to be a top 2 draft pick (alongside fellow freshman beast in michael beasley) should he decide to leave school early (which he should). anyways, i don't have time to watch espn as much as i used to so this was the first time i watched a full game of rose playing and the kid is SICK. he can take you off the dribble whenever he wants AND he's got a natural swagger about him (chitown shiiit). read jay mariotti's article (says his fav. song of the moment is lil wayne's lollipop ha)
i don't want to jinx the championship game for him (although i'm fond of coach bill self of kansas too since he used to be the head coach at my alma mater) but it's definitely gonna be a fun game to watch tomorrow night.

looks like jay-z has some extra cash for his wedding.
so there's been reports that jay-z and beyonce had filed for a marriage certificate a few days ago... well, now the suspense of where jay and his label are going seems to be over. according to nytimes, live nation is about to shell out $150 million for mr. carter to set up shop. jay recently called himself "the rolling stones of hip hop" and while i'm not a fan of his last couple of albums, i can't get mad at him for the deal. play on....
