10 deep sale in LA!
The homies at 10 deep are hosting a big sale in LA this weekend...
CRAZY MURKO'S 10.DEEP SAMPLE SALE
L.A., L.A., big city of schemes. In between the bi-coastal madness of the tradeshows, Murko, our derelict mascot, has managed to escape to LA, taking with him a truckload of 10.Deep merch. Unlucky for us, but lucky for you (at least you West Coasters). Supposedly he's unloading all of the goods for dirt cheap to help support his various vices. Apparently, he's also got some Crazy Gideon-like delusions of grandeur and is running commercials on late-night LA cable access channels. You can catch a glimpse of his television debut HERE.
So if you're in Los Angeles (or willing to make the trek), head down to 645 N. Martel Ave. (at the corner of Melrose and Martel) to take advantage of Murko's lapse in judgment. Hoodies, tees, caps, outerwear, and bottoms will all be available at severely reduced prices. We've sent Blu Jemz, Gaslamp Killer, and Romes to swing by, provide sounds, and keep an eye on our énfant terrible. Show up early to avoid the lines.

a president like my father
a great short read on nytimes.com.... caroline kennedy writes as to why she's supporting the people's choice (or young adults, rather); senator obama. while i'm not completely sold on a particular candidate, i'm a firm believer in trusting the individual, rather than their records or "experience." that applies to everyone from high ranking official in public office or in my professional sector. you either trust the folks you trust or you don't.

vapors x diamond supply co x 10 deep x blends party was the place to be
as expected, our party killed all the other parties/clubs down in san diego... friday night, if you were any one of importance at asr or agenda (or the city of sd for that matter), you were at red circle. by 10 pm, the club was already at over capacity and myself/julie couldn't even enjoy a drink until about midnight. big shout out to blu jemz and low b for the music and nick/diz (diamond supply co), josh/dante (10 deep), ben/keith/nobu/jon (blends) and last but not least, paul at circle bar.
we'll have a video footage of the madness later this week. for now, peep the photos!

two heaters from two of the best...
it's no surprise that dF loves the cool kids and lil wayne. there's no need to explain/justify why either... with that said, there are two songs that i've been playin over and over the past few days. one's action figures by the cool kids and the other is i'm me by lil wayne...
action figures has mikey rappin his ass off (no lance bass) to a head snappin hard ass beat that chuck lays down. this song's murder....
as for i'm me, wayne rolls out crazy/genius line after line (no snow). i don't know who produced the track but it's got me (and sirius satellite radio) playin it it in car and at home.

Weds Jan 30 @ Standard Downtown LA
it's a new year and while it's been super busy for us (don't forget the Vapors jump off this friday in SD if you're down there for ASR/Agenda), we called upon the homies (three of LA's finest) to play us some tunes. honestly, we've had some great talent at these things but this one has a good mix (all these dudes can play all kinds to all). get outta hollywood next wednesday...

white light black rain...
two of my favorite shows on tv are entourage and the countdown series on the big boxing fights (de la hoya vs mayweather, mayweather vs hatton and now jones vs trinidad); both HBO specials. however, as i sit here at 5 am waiting for the countdown to jones and trinidad, i stumbled upon another doc of sort that's pretty crazy/unreal/frightening. steven okazaki's critically acclaimed documentary on the aftermath of the infamous atom bombs titled "white light black rain" explores the horror of what it did to the civilians of hiroshima and nagasaki. sure, we've all heard, read and seen some of this before, but this film showed photos, videos and personal accounts that were far more vivid than anything i had ever seen before. something worth checking out (especially for you pro war folks)...

creme de la creme new year's day hang over jump off...
i barely made it to our own lazy afternoon party at the standard (on 2 hours of sleep) on new year's day BUT once it got crackin around 4 pm, everyone ended up partyin like it was still new year's eve. big shout out to steve (who needed some sleep too), taz and co (for tearin up the dance floor) and of course, the homie jayvon for always holdin it down...

the last two days of 07 kept me from getting any sleep (well a couple of hours each). got to hear some good music though....
