this isn't journalism... this is fox news

i've watched this dude that calls himself jay smooth a couple of times and while i normally wanna slap the smile off his face (not cuz i disagree with him but he somehow manages a smirk/smile even while he's talking!), this bill o reily bit is pretty hilarious...

watch bill o'reily as a rapper!

why the knicks and isiah thomas are a joke (sorry nyc folks)

never been a fan of isiah thomas and everywhere he goes (indiana n then new york), he effs things up.

this trial going on though (including stephon marbury's "incident" with a female intern) is hilarious.....

our main man bill simmons examines the debacle.

why dame dash hates mondays...

damondash060612_1_560.jpg

with all this kanye and jay-z news over the past week, i couldn't help but google dame dash at 3 in the morning. hate him or love him, you can't front on the fact that he's a multi-tasker. i've read this article before (it's quite long) and it's definitely a good read if you're interested in everything dash's done over the past decade (plus some candid thoughts on the whole jay-z beef).

nymag always has some good features....

mark ronson bit in complex

ronson1.jpg

some of you may have already read this in the newsstands but here's kanye interviewing one of our favorite DJ's/producers. random questions and candid answers; mark's one of those dudes that's cool n you know he's not really trying that hard to be.

jay-z to put a new album out (inspired by "american gangster")

20jayz-600.jpg

jay z is back in the studio to put out a concept album for a nov. release. seems relatively too soon but hey, it can't be as bad as kingdome come and he seems extra motivated by watching his 'little brother" kanye show everyone up with his latest lp.

NY TIMES STORY

kanye celebrates his victory at the GQ party...

art.west.gi.jpg

read the details of kanye performing, diddy challengin some ladies to a "scent off" and cindy crawford asking 50 cent not to retire.

before i say anything, let me assure everyone that this will be the last post re: kanye west and his new album (i'm not trying to jock the dude that hard). all i want to say is that, there is only ONE way to succeed in any field. YOU JUST GOTTA CARE MORE than the rest of the folks in your profession. jay-z talks about how they have like 75 versions of "stronger" and 16 different mixes of "good life." when an artist (like kanye) cares SO MUCH about their own project you can't help but appreciate his effort (and give him a pass on the tantrums).

kanye's always rapped and screamed about him just workin his ass off since he can remember (doin 3 beats a day for 3 summers, anyone?) and in the article above, he talks about the frustration he dealt with when he couldn't make the basketball team despite practicing all summer. he's also got a line ("champion") in the new new album where he says "for me, giving up is way harder than trying."

whether you like his personality, style or even music, you gotta tip your hat off to a man that talks his shit and backs it up. he's not the smartest dude, most talented or stylish for that matter, BUT he's definitely working harder than the rest.

ever since i was a kid, i hated when my friends or others said "i don't care." or "i don't care that much about it." well those same fools are still wondering why some become successful while they're scratchin their own ass. fuck your excuses n learn to make some sacfrice...... when people say that they don't care about something (or anything for matter) it just means that they're too scared or lazy to even TRY. fuck 'em.

so big ups to many friends/collegues of mine who follow their dream/aspirations and work their asses off knowing that success isn't guaranteed but they do it anyway. you're already half way there...

IMEEM makes the top 10 of Adweek's third annual 'digital hot list'

this is actually very big accomplishment for our client as facebook was ranked #10 last year (they are #1 on this year's list). among the top 10 sites include the aforementioned facebook, myspace, youtube, tmz, ... and of course IMEEM.

congrats to everyone at imeem and we look forward to keep on doing some big things together!

this week's news

Kanye_West_-_Graduation.jpg

so graduation beat curtis by a pretty substantial count (over 250k units)

one of my fav. songs on the album's been big brother and both kanye and jay-z have talked about their relationship (remember, it was dame dash that gave him the chain and a chance... mr. carter wasn't impressed with 'ye's skill or his steez back then); looking back, jay-z might look smart but let's give credit where credit's due.

wallstreet20thtitle.jpg

on another important release note, the 20th anniversary edition of WALLSTREET is out now. go get it...

mainC_281.jpg

lastly, not to sound corny but life of ryan (featuring ryan sheckler) on mtv is the only show on mtv i watch these days (re-runs late at night, but still). i have some friends who deal with him on a regular basis and good for him (n his sponsors ha). in case you haven't noticed, red bull is getting MAD plays on air... everyone is either drinking red bull or wearing the new era hat.

mike n mike in the morning

one of my fav. things to do since my college years has been listening to sports radio talk. dan patrick (r.i.p. from espn anyway) is arguably the funniest/smartest of all time but the past couple of years, mike n mike (greenberg and golic) have been pretty consistent. give 'em a listen

ASR/Agenda weekend in SD

so it was another weekend filled with tradeshows, meetings and of course, parties... friday night was all about the DC x 10 deep x Blends jump off at hotel keading. just blaze x cool kids killed it as expected and while i made a brief appearance at the vapors party to catch up with flosstradamus, the crew came back to the keading for more madness.

saturday started with a dope pool party at a hotel on F street put together by diamond, crooks, greedy genius, frank151 n others... great food and goodies for the vips (holler). night time was all about the element x stones throw x blends x imeem party we helped coordinate.. another crazy night.

click on the playlist below for flicks with all the homies (nick diamond, scotty hundreds, ray/denis from mighty healthy, dante ross, stones throw, nobu at blends, matt/julie at dF, cool kids, random short person, ... etc).

VMA's

first off, we were down in san diego for asr/agenda this weekend and ton of videos/photos to share but in the meantime, some comments regarding the MTV VMA's which went down in vegas this year.

1. damn, mtv is promoting mark (ronson) like craaaazy. aside from being the "DJ" during the award show, mark's THE DUDE on every mtv commercials (plus i think he's featured as artist of the week on mtv). definitely a good look for one of my fav. folks in music...

2. britney spears sucks really bad. aside from lookin like shit, she really can't dance either (not even necessary to get into her singing by now).

3. chris brown is alright with me... the kid can move. no homo.

4. kanye apparently threw another tantrum

5. what's an award show without a fight?! no rappers in this mix but whenever dudes fight over a girl, it's funny n ghey at the same time. looks like everyone's having a laugh (google it).

6. i only watched parts of the show so maybe i missed some good jokes but the ones i heard coming out of sarah silverman's mouth were lame as shit. let's get jamie foxxx up there again.

7. congrats to travis n his gch (that's gym class heroes) for winning the best new artist. i'm not a fan of amy winehouse or lily allen personally (forget being politically correct).

8. a-trak's playin the official afterparty (right about now). i'm sure it's goin down....
