afterparty at shag

by now, most of you know that i'm at shag on fridays... according to joey, we have the "best girl to guy ratio in hollywood." do i see some corny ass dudes at the club? yes... do i get annoyed with a song request sometimes? yes... but as long as the homies keep coming out and girls keep packing the spot, we're straight. among others, meagan good came through and kicked it til the lights came on!

nba all star weekend

so i was only in vegas for the beginning of nba all star weekend (magic was too much as is... plus i had the party at shag on fri. night) but just to give you an idea about the madness, here's alist of people i ran into from the time i checked out of my hotel (mgm signature) to actually leaving vegas friday night.

this friday in LA.... in-store party

as some of you may know, blackmarket/blu82 are my retail clients.... went to vegas as their men's buyer picking up your brother's favorite brands (hundreds, mighty healthy, leroy jenkins, mishka, reason, ... etc). while we're also developing the stores' website, we thought we'd have a lil party in conjunction with their monthly art show. our good friends at shmack, urb, and our other client (han asian vodka) will be the main sponsors AND the homies (jason stewart aka them jeans and jayvon) will be playin the tunes!

no need to rsvp for this.... free booze n all that good stuff so come through.

first day at magic

so it's a lil after 2 am and by vegas standards, i'm making it an early night.... i have early appointments tomorrow and didn't really sleep much lastnight so i'm back but it was still a good day / night. i pretty much spent the afternoon roaming around magic picking up a few accounts/buying for spring/summer/fall... mighty healthy, reason, hundreds, leroy jenkins, orisue, .... etc. some good shit!

to the night time shit... i pretty much stayed at the palms for the suite party on 28th floor and moon. 28th floor suite was dope cuz all the homies were there. urb crew, jamaal from zune, the brands, ... etc. moon was dope cuz dr drew came through with his wife! me, dr drew, his wife, dj am, travis barker, shana moakler (yes she was there with travis) and some other homies kickin it..... spider killed it on the decks too.

back to an afterparty....

not quite a Baller...

hello,

this is michelle. aka "jesse's little sister" to some. but that is just a very small bit to my identity, though undeniably true, we are blood and family. he's asked me to contribute and i will be doing so from now on. i may not have the insight on how to go about "ballin" "calling shots" or walking "the red carpet" but i've got a pretty good head of my own and will share with you some of its contents among other things.

i'll leave you today with the trailer to one of the best movies i've ever seen- "the science of sleep." if you've ever confused your dreams with reality, if you live inside your head just as much as outside of it, this movie will prove to you it's a damn good way to live and you are not the only one. and prove that as we know it's more exciting, more beautiful, at times much more intense and difficult than the mundane.

it just became available to rent this week and it will be available for purchase next week. get on it.

fake phony chicks...

you know how there are certain people out there that are just phony? we all probably have an acquaintance or two that are just straight up corny while frontin. while i'm not about to name people i know in real life but since i'm bored and i've always wanted to call out a couple of folks i see on tv or something, here it is.

1. BEYONCE

- i know this isn't a popular pick since many guys think she's fine as hell and many girls may think she's an independent woman who doesn't need jay-z's cash, but to me, she's as fake as any fake titties i've seen out in LA. everything she says seems rehearsed, the way she walks/talks and behaves seems orchestrated, and worst of all, she looks bad (and obvious) faking all this shit. we've all heard of the destiny's child beef (i'm on latoya's side, for the record) as well as some media meltdown with her moms and dream girls drama. beyonce's career moves/fake ass ways remind me of j. lo a couple of years ago. i don't care how much the mainstream media kisses her ass. she ain't real to me.

2. TYRA BANKS

- this is a pretty obvious one too. and it's unfortunate because i loved her as a model and as an actor in fresh prince and higher learning (not joking), but her oprah meets i'm your bestfriend who eats cheeseburger routines are getting older than the full house re-runs (again, i used to like those re-runs). one of my really good friends was her assistant for awhile and even she confirmed that tyra was fake as hell. if you oxygen / lifetime watching ladies (and lance bass's) can't see that tyra's duping you, god bless you. those made up scenarios where she dresses up as a fat chick or a dude even (wtf) are straight up ridiculous. actually, her fake "i'm tyra from the block" accent and attitude are just as lame as j lo's title for her album.

3. J. LO

- since i mentioned her a couple of times already, by default, she makes the top 3. from her droppin the N word in that song with ja rule (ironically enough i think the title of the song was IM REAL), to pretending like her and ben affleck were actually gonna get married (yeah and we were all shocked when lance bass came out of the closet), for awhile, j lo was able to sell her image/phoniness and cash in. honestly though, i do think she's gotten smarter and a little more genuine (not so career-conscious) and to my surprise, that dance life show on mtv isn't so bad either.

plug awards

Come see the PLUG 2007 Independent Music Awards Feb 10 in NYC @ Irving Plaza. Performers will be Stephen Malkmus and The Jicks, Silversun Pickups, El-P, Deerhoof & Tokyo Police Club and comedian, David Cross will host the event.

Unlike traditional award shows, each artist will perform 20-40 minute mini-sets on stage.

As a thanks to fans who have overwhelmed us this year with their PLUG votes, the show will be only $10. Get tix here.
