first night in chicago - lollapalooza weekend
so i didn't get in town until about 7 pm. i grabbed dinner with my parents and then met up with my homie schwendau around 10... off we go to see curt aka dj autobot of the flosstradamus cuz it's his bday. curt/i are both leos so thats dope. i just found out the other day that killa kela (www.killakela.com if you don't know) and i have the same exact bday. august 10. we the shit!!
anyway, josh (j2k of floss) and curt had a little last minute party at the town hall pub on halsted. not that i have anything against gay people but damn, that shit was right in the middle of boys town... it took forever to find parking and once we rolled up, my good buddy seven (choc industries bitches!) n his girl were getting in as well. seven and i run into each other everywhere we go... good dude (n thanks for the drink sir).
curt turned 25 and looked pretty faded... josh did his thing on the decks (with some dipset classics in there of course) and in the midst a trizzy aka a-trak showed up. he was staying with josh/curt all week and workin on some recordings with kid sister but he came by to say hi to everyone before bouncing to SD for street scene with kanye. he was rockin the st alfred/chitown shirt... good look to be reppin chicago!
anyways, i have a little bit of video footage from this portion... we'll get it up soon.
so 1am hits, n schwendau and i head over to crobar to catch another homeslice spin. no other than a fellow LA dude, steve aoki. steve played in the mezzanine area but he def stole all the crowd from the main room. damn, it must've been a while since i've seen steve play but he fuckin killed it. i was fuckin wasted and all but he had everyone goin including himself when he'd jump on the dj booth n almost fall backwards. thanks for the shout out on your headphone/mic screaming through those speakers but my ears are bleeding homie. . fuckkkk... steve also shouted out mark (the cobrasnake) like 20 times... he wasn't there though hahaha
so i ended up doing something i never do... staying til the last record (4am). steve absolutely killed it... claudia at crobar hooked up some nice bottles of champagne (straight off the bottle biatch!). got to chill with some local heavyweights (mark gertz of DWD, johnny love, paul rod, chris holmes, ...etc).
all in all a crazy ass night... i left steve because i know we'd get in some trouble i do not need right now. steve, i hope you found your hotel n all that shit!!
