LA Fashion Weak . . . I mean Week
WSJ had an interesting article regarding LA Fashion Week . . . or the lack-there-of. The bad economy and the internet combined have stuck it to LA's week long show, (a) because no one wants to fly out to see less then a dozen designer's lines and (b) the internet has made marketing directly to the consumer a better use of budget than a run-way event. Not to mention the lack of corporate sponsors ( IMG, Mercedes, and Smashbox Studios all backed out ). Well judging from the city's tastes, i think if Tapout and Affliction had shows the entire population of Hollywood guidos and weekend warriors would sustain any sort of fashion week . . . but I don't think you'd see Anna Wintour or Kanye at that show. Just look at how bummy their website is, smh. The website alone makes Milan / Paris / NYC all look like better bets.

Sneakers - Circa Middle School
Remember middle school? I want to invite you on a trip down memory lane. These were the court shoes, the ones that never touched pavement . . .

Bike Ride to MOCA
Ian shut down my idea to start the DF bike gang but we settled for the DF skate crew. Anyways, if you're into biking then you can go to MOCA's monthly event TONIGHT. The Engagement Party is a series of visual artist collectives. This month's visual artist collective is called "Flesh Car Crash."
"For Flesh Car Crash, members of OJO will split into two groups, each of which will pack into a small car. Once there, they will make music both by utilizing objects and materials in the cars’ interiors and by playing instruments powered by the cars’ batteries. Audience members will be invited to assist with the composition. The cars will dance, glide, and narrowly miss each other in a choreographed game of chicken. The finale should be explosive!" -Midnight Ridazz
Sounds cool. If you want to ride, meet at Crank Mob Park (Venice Blvd. & Canfield Ave.) at 5pm. Ride out at 6pm.
Flesh Car Crash starts at 7pm and is FREE.

Drake - The Breast...whoops...BEST I Ever Had
Mr Hudson (feat. Kanye West) - Supernova
I've been talking to some folks over at Island/Def Jam and they mentioned Mr Hudson's release so I thought we'd give his video some love... Another reason though is that the entire video might've been shot at one of my favorite hotels (The Thompson in Beverly Hills); very quiet/perfect rooftop pool and cabanas plus one of the nicest rooms you can pay for (glass ceiling/mirror directly above the bed). Highly recommended if you know what's up...

50 Greatest Trailers of All Time
An interesting list compiled by IFC...
I've always thought that trailers were often more exciting than the movie itself - another reason why I enjoy making trailer videos for artists. Who else remembers the gold guns toted by Nicholas Cage in this?
