Very few people are able to pull off the white-rapper thing, but it seems like Detroit during the 90's had the magic touch. Say what you want, but Kid Rock was/is the shit. Traversing country, southern rock, and hip-hop is no easy task (ask Nelly #Fail). But Kid Rock was able to create albums that rode that line perfectly (his DJ even had a hit). And he still does it. #pause

Resident dF prankster/commentator Hov would love this... In case you haven't seen it already, watch out for those ice cream trucks when you're 'Dougie-ing.'

You might've seen/heard Walberg name-drop his water company in Entourage recently and I just caught him with CEO Steven Fisher on CNBC's Power Lunch; they're going for the Coca-Cola $$$ and from what I've seen/read so far, the water doesn't seem too bad.

My friends at Kids With Candy introduced me to these great personalized pet tags by Me & Miss Jones and I've been wanting one badly since. I don't have a pet, but that's just minor detail. When you get a tag it comes with a chain for the human as well, so I just may have to get one. You can get it made in gold, silver with pretty much any detail you want because each one is custom made to order. Each tag also has the owner's phone number laser engraved on the back so it's great for your sneaky run away pet. Shout out to Diesel, KWC's resident intern and male model...

The second I laid my eyes on this, I knew this would be the newest addition to my design wish list. The City Rain Concrete Glass is the exquisite marriage of glass and cement "with idea of wet street and glass window." How sexy is that? I love concrete, I love gritty urban atmosphere. Give me condensation water drip on concrete city wall over fresh morning due on a blade of grass any day. Well, no, not exactly. I adore both but aesthetically nothing warms me up like the good, clean, cold minimal world. At $18 bucks a glass, I actually might be able to afford this, sooner than later. I never made it to North Shore last Nov. when I was in Oahu but this time, I did on Sunday and stopped by Ted's Bakery for lunch... If you're in Hawaii, make sure you stop by there and grab Ted's Bento + a cream pie.

 

I've been pretty hooked on Big Sean since his Rock The Bells performance (and I realized he really is that small). His mixtape Finally Famous V.3 dropped today and features Drake, Chuck Inglish, Mike Posner, Asher Roth, and Curren$y. Go get it!

I've heard a lot of remixes for Blowin' Money Fast, however, none quite like this. Lupe did some lame version, and Yo Gotti's was okay. I was scrolling thru GDD (shouts to Trevor, David, etc.) and came across this slapper. It makes it extra nice that these guys are from M-I-YAYO. Play on extra loud. #dubstepwin

I'm still recovering from last friday.  Special thanks to Cruzan and 722 for coming on board for this one.  Best Coast and LexiconDon brought the house down with their live performance while Mike B and Pase Rock kept the party going in the next room.  This one will definitely go down as one of my favorite events we've had all year.  Now it's on to the next (here's a hint).

I was treated to some great birthday spoilage this past weekend and one of the favorites was dinner at Seagrass Restaurant in Santa Barbara. Great food, great service. Some of the freshest oysters I've ever had, great locally farmed produce (heirloom tomatoes were recommended for the day and they were incredible), perfectly cooked halibut and seabass. The restaurant closed at 10, but they did not rush us out as we enjoyed our dessert and espresso well past 10. In fact, they started up the machine again to brew us another cup around 11... Definitely go here if you are a seafood lover (although the non-seafood items looked great as well) and find yourself in Santa Barbara.
